(1902-48)
American soldier. He was born in New York. He served in the US attorney-general's office, and later as commis-sioner of correction in New York. He joined the army, and was appointed head of its war crimes branch. In 1948 he was one of David Ben-Gurion's military advisors, taking the name Mickey Stone. In the same year he became commander of the Jerusalem front. He was killed during the Israeli War of Independence.
